Wow! I think he likes the first look

It may not be the traditional way but this First Look was beautiful

I’m more of a traditionalist myself.  I always thought the “Groom doesn’t see the bride until she walks down the aisle” was the right way to do things.  When I saw the groom totally speechless when he saw his bride in her gown for the first time, I could be convinced that this isn’t such a bad idea.

By request of the bride and groom, we did photos of the First Look before the ceremony.  It was obvious what love they had for each other by the looks and the tears that they shared at this point.  The emotions did not get any less as the day went on and I hope that they will share a lifetime of the same sort of love from now on.

Don’t you just love weddings?

The youngest guest tries to convince the family dog to join in the party but she’s not having it.  My favorite part of wedding pictures is getting the details.  We get all the great shots of the wedding party and the family but watching the kids and capturing all the people and surroundings is terrific. I am sure much of this would be totally missed in cases where there is only one photographer so, I really glad we had two of us on this event!

The lovely Zombie Killer couple

I guess it is easy to see what’s popular on TV and movies when you go to weddings.  At this one, the bride displays a lovely Zombie killer hammer to be used to seal their wooden memory capsule as part of the ceremony.  The groom was wearing Star Wars suspenders so, there you go!

At least at this wedding it wasn’t the overblown theme decoration deal where everything is covered with whatever show happens to be their favorites.  I’m not sure everyone caught the reference here but the wedding party got a good laugh out of it.

Wedding photography, oh so serious

This one just cracked me up

This was one of my favorite shots from the wedding I did this past weekend.  We were doing the groomsmen and with the groom and everything was pretty calm and serious and then this happens.  I got the shot and then broke out laughing.  Hey, it’s supposed to be a fun day celebrating a young couple starting their lives together.  If you don’t laugh a little, you must be doing something wrong!

Hello Horsie

Yesterday, I went out to Carrollton to shoot  a wedding.  The event was at a beautiful farm so of course I had to catch some of the surroundings.  At the side of the property, there was a stable and a fenced yard with two very friendly horses.  They both wandered the area watching visitors and looking to see who had brought them something to eat.  I caught this one up close and personal so, I thought I would share this today.
