Madison, Georgia

So, yesterday we went out for a visit with the new grand daughter.   Mostly, we gave our daughter and son-in-law a chance to do something other than 24-hour baby duty.  To get out of the house, Ryan and I went on a photo walk of nearby Madison.  This town is one of very few Georgia towns that retains pre-Civil War homes.  There are many homes that are frequently photographed but we went a little off the main strip to see some other vintage beauties.

The homes that surround Main Street are a mix of antebellum, forties and fifties cottages and some new construction.  Many sport elaborate gingerbread trim and wonderful wrap-around porches.  These are definitely the kind of places made for a glass of lemonade and a lazy afternoon enjoying a beautiful day.  A great place to visit!

Photography is my way to capture and share the amazing beauty of God’s handiwork in the people and places that I experience every day. I focus mainly on nature and travel subjects but also do alot of event work for my church and the occasional wedding or portrait session. My residence is Roswell, Georgia – a northern suburb of Atlanta. I try to get around the Southeast as often as possible and would love to explore other parts of the USA and the rest of the world.
