Ordinary or not?

Yesterday, I went out for the annual Photo Walk with the Roswell Photographic Society.  Each year, we take a group out to walk around the Historic District around Canton Street to look for images in our home town.  It is surprising how many interesting subjects there are right in front of you that you don’t notice most of the time.  Sometimes it can be the buildings or signs that we pass often and don’t pay attention to.  There are also things like this flower that are usually taken for granted.

If you slow down and really look at what’s around you, often the ordinary can become extraordinary.  Looking at details, appreciating colors, seeing patterns that were always there but were missed in our busy life can make every-day items seem special.  I really need to do this more often!

Photography is my way to capture and share the amazing beauty of God’s handiwork in the people and places that I experience every day. I focus mainly on nature and travel subjects but also do alot of event work for my church and the occasional wedding or portrait session. My residence is Roswell, Georgia – a northern suburb of Atlanta. I try to get around the Southeast as often as possible and would love to explore other parts of the USA and the rest of the world.
