Floating on glass

We ventured out to Gibbs Gardens this weekend to see what was blooming.  As always, it was worth the trip although, the water lilies were not as numerous as other times we have visited.  Some of the lily pads were bare and others had one or two blossoms peeking above the water.  This single bloom was in a shady spot where the still water was reflecting some color from the surrounding trees.

I had wished that there was some more sunlight getting through to this one but as it turned out, the result was a kind of soft, pastel image.  I imagine it could have been sharper and brighter with that spotlight effect I had in my mind had come about but then, what I got may have been even better.

Photography is my way to capture and share the amazing beauty of God’s handiwork in the people and places that I experience every day. I focus mainly on nature and travel subjects but also do alot of event work for my church and the occasional wedding or portrait session. My residence is Roswell, Georgia – a northern suburb of Atlanta. I try to get around the Southeast as often as possible and would love to explore other parts of the USA and the rest of the world.
