Return to Barnsley Gardens

On Saturday, I made the ride up I-75 to join the North Georgia Photo Club on an outing to Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville and Lindale Mill near Rome, Georgia.  It was a great day to be out enjoying the beauty of North Georgia but I’m not sure where everyone was on this fantastic Memorial Day weekend.

We met first at Barnsley Gardens to go see the ruins of Woodlands, the old manor house that was the original owner’s home.  There was a lot to see and enjoy there and we were also able to wander through the garden area which was open since there were no weddings being prepared for on this day.

I wandered through some of the beautifully manicured streets where the guest cottages and public meeting buildings are.  It is all set up for family fun on the green but there was almost nobody around.  I saw one family out but that was it.  Maybe everyone went to Florida?  They missed out on this great day.

Photography is my way to capture and share the amazing beauty of God’s handiwork in the people and places that I experience every day. I focus mainly on nature and travel subjects but also do alot of event work for my church and the occasional wedding or portrait session. My residence is Roswell, Georgia – a northern suburb of Atlanta. I try to get around the Southeast as often as possible and would love to explore other parts of the USA and the rest of the world.
