Look at that gleaming chrome!

It is really an amazing contrast to see chrome with the sun sparkling off of it atop a rusty old car but, here it is.  This old Buick hood ornament has a few spots that time has worn into the chrome but it still holds enough shine for me to be able to capture a sunburst at the top.

The Buick Motor Company was founded by David Dunbar Buick, a Scottish-American inventor who, in spite of being a high school drop out, started a company that later became the world’s largest auto company, General Motors.  Initially, Buick logos were stylized text but in the 1930’s Buick began using this coat of arms based on the Scottish “Buik” family crest.  This has morphed into other logos over time but I like the detail of the coat of arms best.

Photography is my way to capture and share the amazing beauty of God’s handiwork in the people and places that I experience every day. I focus mainly on nature and travel subjects but also do alot of event work for my church and the occasional wedding or portrait session. My residence is Roswell, Georgia – a northern suburb of Atlanta. I try to get around the Southeast as often as possible and would love to explore other parts of the USA and the rest of the world.
