WWII vintage French coins

A Veteran’s Day rememberance for those who fought on foreign soil

I didn’t have anything patriotic to post on the Veteran’s Day so I thought maybe these coins might be a memorial of those who fought during World War II and saw action in France.

This image includes French coins from the 1930’s and 1940’s.  The bill underneath is not french but I wanted currency as a backdrop and this is what I had available.

2 Franc coin -1949 (Aluminum)
Laureate and Draped Bust of Republic
1 Franc coin – 1942 (Aluminum)
Double bit axe, grain sprigs flank
25 Centime coin – 1932 (Copper-Nickel)
Monogram divided by center hole

Nikon D7100
Vanguard Altra Pro 263 AT tripod
ProMaster LED120SS LED for lighting
Nikon 105mm f/2.8 AF Micro-Nikkor
105mm @ f/20 –  0.8 sec – ISO 200

Photography is my way to capture and share the amazing beauty of God’s handiwork in the people and places that I experience every day. I focus mainly on nature and travel subjects but also do alot of event work for my church and the occasional wedding or portrait session. My residence is Roswell, Georgia – a northern suburb of Atlanta. I try to get around the Southeast as often as possible and would love to explore other parts of the USA and the rest of the world.
