Set in foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with a small-town atmosphere and easy access to beautiful parks and forests, Brevard is a great place to visit or to retire. My visit here was part of a trip to nearby DuPont State Forest for the purpose of photographing some of the beautiful waterfalls there. Brevard is actually known as “The Land of Waterfalls” due to the large number of falls in the area.
If you have not been here, I would recommend it as a stop. The town is a cross-roads area near the borders of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. It is about an hour south of Asheville which is a marvelous place to visit and enjoy southern North Carolina’s mountains as well.
I think this would be especially nice in the fall when the colors change and the weather is a bit cooler. Another trip up here for us is probably coming!
